Biography[]
Zawadi (Swahili: The Gift) is an African woman who was active around the 1990s-2020s. Zawadi was a singer nicknamed, "Mother Nature" who was part of a travelling theatre troop alongside fellow performers Kiume, Kibibi and Nakawa. As a performer, Zawadi sang gospel mezzo-soprano with high belt. This acting-troop became affiliated with Simba, the lion king of the Pride Lands whom they celebrated via a show called, "Festival of the Lion King". This show travelled across Africa, notably stopping in the Harambe Theatre of Harambe in East-Africa.
