Uh-Oa is a character from the defunct Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) re-theming of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. She physically appears within Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. She is an audio-animatronic character voiced by Amelia McQueen.

History[]

Biography[]

Uh-Oa is a Polynesian goddess of disaster who was one of the tiki gods that served as patron to the Enchanted Tiki Room. By the 1960s/1970s, a tiki idol of Uh-Oa was in the possession of the ancient mystic Trader Sam and kept within his bar, "The Grog Grotto" in a Polynesian village. At some point (either prior to 1938 or around the 1990s), the Tiki Room was sold by Hollywood executives to the birds Zazu and Iago. When Iago attempted to turn the room into a celebration of himself, Uh-Oa punished the parrot by maiming him.

Development history[]

Uh-Oa was originally an audio-animatronic character created for the Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) re-theming of the Tropical Serenade in the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland. After this attraction's closure in 2011, her animatronic was made static and as moved to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto which opened in 2015.
