This article is on the unseen 17th-18th century pub. For its 20th century successor, see the Enchanted Tiki Bar.

Trader Sam's pub is an unseen location from Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. It is chronologically the first drinking establishment which Trader Sam is known to have run.

Description[]

This was a pub implied to be located somewhere in the Caribbean Sea during the late-17th and/or early 18th century. The pub was run by magical South American cannibal, "Trader Sam" to participate in his love of mixology.

History[]

Background[]

Trader Sam opened this pub, apparently after being bitten by a literal "Bartending bug" which some confused for a mosquito. Two regular customers of Sam's were the pirate Captain Jack Sparrow and said pirate's mother who loved spending time at the establishment. Jack Sparrow's mother died prior to the year 1729 and through unknown means was transformed into a shrunken head. After Jack obtained this head following the War on Piracy, he left his mother's head in Sam's possession to honour how she loved Sam's tavern in life.

At some point, Sam presumably ceased to run the pub. Sam did transport Jack Sparrow's mother's head to his Enchanted Tiki Bar in Polynesia which opened centuries later.

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]

The pub is mentioned in a letter from Captain Jack Sparrow to Trader Sam, along with the shrunken head of his mother from the pub.

Trivia[]

  • It is possible that the pub was attended by Blackbeard and Angelica Teach who traded with Trader Sam. Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar also has the locket used by the sea-gods Davy Jones and Calypso, and a ship-in-a-bottle depicting The Wicked Wench pirate-ship which was captained by one Hector Barbossa.
  • It is possible that the tavern was located in the South American pirate's lair of Shipwreck Cove where Jack Sparrow spent much of his youth.
