Trader Dan is a removed character from the Jungle Cruise.
History[]
Background[]
"Trader Dan" was an barterer during the 1930s. He was aboard a boat, presumably used by the Jungle Navigation Company, which passed through the territory of the North African Umbala tribe. This boat was attacked by the tribe using arrows and poison darts with the boat narrowly making it out and Dan reporting on the danger over the radio. It is implied that Dan was killed by the tribe shortly after this, mid sentence while transmitting the message, "Stay clear of the river north of-" as the radio cut out into static.
Development history[]
Trader Dan could be heard in the queue over transmissions, but this was removed in 2021 to be replaced with updated transmissions connected to the new storyline.
Appearances[]
Jungle Cruise[]
Trader Dan's transmission could be heard on a radio in the queue. He interrupted a message between Sir Reginald and Jack, with a static filled message where he said, "This is Trader Dan reporting attacking (static). We just made it through but, but it was close. They're, they're armed with arrows, poison darts, repeat, hostile (static) are attacking. Stay clear of the river north of (static)".
