Description

Missions

The Wilderness Explorers is an international scouting organization. They have heavy themes of environmentalism and ecological education. The organization has guidebooks, ranks and several badges for its members who are often youths. The four known ranks are: Tadpole, Minnow, Fish, and Senior Wilderness Explorer. Their official motto was, “A Wilderness Explorer is Friend to All, be it Plants or Fish or Tiny Mole” followed by animal noises.

History

The Wilderness Explorers has been active since at-least 1912. In 1912, they travelled to the city of Anandapur in the asian kingdom of Anandapur which at the time was ruled by the British Empire. Here, the Wilderness Explorers visited the royal woods of Anandapur and had their visit commemorated. They continued their operations through the 20th and 21st century by which time they had expanded internationally. By the 2150s, they had established outposts on the alien exo-moon of Pandora where they partnered with Alpha Centauri Expeditions and the Pandora Conservation Initiative.

Wilderness Explorers

This is an attraction that takes place across Disney's Animal Kingdom theme-park. It involves missions set in Harambe, Anandapur, Discovery Island, Diggs County and the Valley of Mo'ara. Some of these missions dealt with entities from Jungle Cruise successor attractions Kilimanjaro Safaris and Na'vi River Journey including the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, the reserve's warden, the SIMBA-1, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Alpha Centauri Expeditions and the Pandora Conservation Initiative. The attraction also included Rafiki's Planet Watch, an attraction themed around Rafiki from the Lion King and located in the vicinity of Harambe.

In Disneyland Paris, Carl and Russel can be seen along the jungle rivers of Adventureland.. The Wilderness Explorers attraction involves Discovery Island, It's Tough to Be a Bug! and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is a Disneyoendron tree, a fictional genus of tree frequently used in Adventureland.

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar

Paradise Falls and Harambe are referenced in Trader Sam's bar and his character's history.

On the wall there is a promotion for the Wilderness Explorers, and a board of their badges. The badges featured come from the Wilderness Explorers missions in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Maharajah Jungle Trek

There is a plaque commemorating how the Wilderness Explorers visited Anandapur's royal forest in 1912 while the kingdom was under British imperial rule.
