He states that Doctor Sears and Doctor Hibler are collaborating to give a lecture on their research of, "The African Lion", referencing the True-Life Adventures film, "The African Lion" which inspired the lions in the Jungle Cruise's African veldt.
- The real-life Ted Sears is pictured in a photograph within Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. Sears is shown outside the plane on the 1941 vacation to South America which he took with Walt Disney, here guided by Trader Sam.[1][2]
