Tarzan and Me is a fictional film referenced in the Jungle Cruise.

History[]

Background[]

Tarzan and Me is a film released prior to the year 1938. The movie presumably revolved around the character of Tarzan, the ape-man. Tarzan in real-life is a character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs but in continuity is a real-life figure from the late 19th century.

Development history[]

Tarzan and Me was first referenced after a 1991 update of the Jungle Cruise. The film is likely inspired by the real-life adventure film Tarzan and His Mate (1934), the sequel to Tarzan the Ape Man (1932) which starred Johnny Weissmuller as the titular Ape Man. This film was worked on by special-effects artist Bob Mattey who worked on the Jungle Cruise and its film-series was also alluded to in the queue with Albert Awol imitating Johnny Weissmuller.

Appearances[]

Jungle Cruise[]

Albert Awol mentions the Jungle Navigation Company playing this film for movie-night, only for it to be postponed due to gorillas raiding their base-camp and stealing their film-projector.
