The Sunshine Tree Terrace is a dining-service in the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland. The backstory has ties to the Jungle Cruise and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. It is best known for its mascot, the Orange Bird and primarily menu-item, the Dole Whip.

Backstory[]

The Sunshine Tree Terrace is a dining-service run by the Sunshine Tree Terrace Brand of the Bay Lake Produce Company of WED Ent., Inc., based out of Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The company specialized in the selling of citrus and citrus based treats, advertised by their mascot, "The Orange Bird". The company was seemingly active during the 1930s with bases in the, "Adventureland" regions such as one nearby the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Development history[]

The Sunshine Tree Terrace and Orange Bird were created to promote the Florida Citrus Commission. Over the years, it has switched locations with a similar dining-service called Aloha Isle, adjacent to the Enchanted Tiki Room.

In 2021, the terrace served the, "Backside of Water" float, named for Schweitzer Falls and made to tie-in with the Jungle Cruise film's release.[1]

Skipper Canteen[]

Within the library of the Skipper Canteen is a book with the title Native Orange Birds of the Southeastern United Statesby Dr. Sid Truss.

Trader Sam's[]

Both of these bars contain figures of the Orange Bird.

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]

On a shelf in this bar is a plastic figure of the Orange Bird in the possession of Trader Sam. Attached is a note from Sam explaining, "I traded for this because I thought it had a ppeal".

Indiana Jones[]

The town of Disney Springs is a location in the Indiana Jones universe, being the home and base of operations for Indy's aviator Jock Lindsey.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room[]

The Orange Bird is affiliated with the Enchanted Tiki Room and her birds due to their shared setting of the Sunshine Tree Terrace and history with the Florida Citrus Commission. In the Magic of Disney Animation, Orange Bird appears on the poster for a film set at the Tiki Room called, "Mouse Pacific".
