The, "Sleeping" Zebra also known as the Dead Zebra refers to a deceased figure from the Jungle Cruise.
History[]
Background[]
This was a zebra which lived along the African veldt of North Africa in the late 1930s. The zebra was killed by the local lion pride which dragged its carcass to their den along the Nile River to consume as vultures waited nearby to feed on the scraps. Boats of the Jungle Navigation Company would pass this sight while conducting the company's Jungle Cruise tours with child passengers. The skippers would lie for the children and say that the lions were watching over the sleeping zebra.
