- The Ems Empress boat is named for the Ems River made its first voyage.
- The entrance carving has many animals from the Jungle Cruise attraction on it:
- At then entrance, there is a carving with a gorilla holding Chief Nah-Mee's hat.
- The Ems Empress drink mug is modelled after the chimpanzee boat scene in the Jungle Cruise attraction.
- In one area, there are oars with the numbers "55" and "71", referencing the years 1955 and 1971 which were the opening years of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom, along with their respective versions of the Jungle Cruise.
- The chandelier of four glass birds is inspired by one from the Skipper Canteen, which referenced the four masters-of-ceremony from Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
- Hung on the walls are belongings of Dr. Leonard Moss and Rosa Soto Dominguez.
- The map on the wall references surrounding areas of the Disney Treasure. It also has the python, Disneyland boathouse, and Temple of the Forbidden Eye on it. The helm bares the logo for the Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
- There are references to the JNC's different "Crews": The Banana Troop, The Pach, Aves Raras, the Bote Crashers, and the Upstream Society. JNC president Alberta Falls is identified as a member of the Banana Troop.
- There are various references to the Adventure Trading Company, including an open copy of the Daily Gnus.[1]
- The headwaters of the nile map is taken from the gorilla camp scene of the Jungle Cruise.
- Jungle Telegram Company messages are hung on the wall.
