Skipper Anna was a skipper for the Jungle Navigation Company in the 1930s. In 1938, she won their 1938 poem competition with her poem, "Banana in the Savanna". This victory was announced by Skipper Missy over the Global Broadcasting Service, stating herself to be a, "Fan-a".
