In 1878, the Silver Springs Nature Theme Park was created which was an attraction around the springs, bringing in tourism. Several notable Hollywood films were shot on-site there including Tarzan the Ape Man (1932) and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954).
Jungle Cruise appearances[]
Jungle Cruise[]
The character of Felix Pechman XIII is referenced as originating from Silver Springs though the community is not directly referenced in the actual attraction. The closest allusion comes from Pechman mentioning having piloted glass-bottom boats from 1934 to 1937 before he was fired for what is implied to be wrecking a boat on the rocks. In Walt Disney World, the film Tarzan the Ape Man is referenced in the queue by Albert Awol imitating Tarzan's wail while also mentioning an in-universe film called Tarzan and Me.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto[]
On the shelf near the giant squid's arm is a souvenir banner from Silver Springs, identifying Sam as having visited the community in his travels.[1] A different banner can be found in a different part of the bar.[2]
