Shirley Temple Black, born Shirley Jane Temple (1928-2014) is a historic Great Depression era child-actress turned ambassador for the USA in Ghana and to Czechoslovakia. As a child-star, Temple did work for the Walt Disney Company and attended Disney events such as the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). In the mid-1970s, she was a member of the Disney board of directors.

The Cambodian ruins are referred to by skippers as, "Shir Lee's Temple" or the, "Shir Lee Temple". The statue depicting Khmer king Jayavarman VII (c. 1122–1218) is likewise given the nickname of, "Shir Lee".

A framed photograph of Walt Disney and a young Shirley Temple at the premiere of is hung in this restaurant.[2] This restaurant is themed around being located on Buena Vista Street in 1920s Los Angeles from when Walt Disney first came to the industry.

Temple can be seen in this film played at Disney's Hollywood Studios, interacting with Walt Disney at the Oscar ceremony for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror[]

A doll of Shirley Temple appears in the lobby of the Hollywood Tower Hotel, next to a copy of Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz. The implication here is that the doll belonged to a customer of the hotel from the Halloween of 1939 when lightning struck the tower, causing it to become a haunted portal to the 5th Dimension. This doll is also frequently affiliated with Talky Tina, a murderous sentient doll from the 1963 episode Living Doll from the Twilight Zone. Shirley Temple is also an inspiration behind, "Sally Shine", an undead 1930s child-star haunting the hotel who is one of the attraction's main ghosts.

  • Temple made a cameo as an animated character in the 1936 Mickey Mouse cartoon Mickey's Polo Team and the 1939 Donald Duck cartoon The Autograph Hound.
