Sango Shio also spelled Sango Sio is a character from the Skipper Canteen.
History[]
In the 19th century, Sango Shio was a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. The society was an organization of wealthy colonial explorers and by the latter end of the century, Sio was considered a senior-member. On the June 5 of 1888, Shio signed certificates to mark the discovery of an ancient Cambodian temple of the Khmer Empire found along the Mekong river of Cambodia by fellow member Dr. Albert Falls.
In 1910, Shio went on a river-expedition on the Amazon river. This adventure was later memorialized by the society at their base in the Polynesian isles. Shio was also a frequent visitor of Dr. Falls' jungle mansion which held a secret meeting-place for the society.

Skipper Canteen[]
Sio's fez appears within the display-case of the Skipper Canteen. In the Skipper Canteen's library are books titled, "Discovery of the South Seas" and, "Beneath the Island" by S. Sio.[1] Shio's signature is on the certificate of discovery for the Ancient Cambodian Shrine.
Tropical Hideaway[]
An oar left by S.E.A. commemorates Shio's 1910 voyage on the Amazon River. It has several small bite-marks, likely indicating a piranha attack.[2]
