Background[]
The SIMBA-1 was used around the 1990s-2020s by the safari-company Kilimanjaro Safaris. The keep was utilized in Harambe for safari tours of the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
Development history[]
The SIMBA-1 is named for the character of Simba from the Lion King. The jeep was involved in an original narrative for the ride involving the SIMBA-1 tracking down poachers who killed the elephant Big Red and stole her baby Little Red. This narrative was removed over the years.

The SIMBA-1 is the main vehicle used in this attraction. In the queue, a sign in the lobby tells Wilderness Explorers that their safari will be aboard the Simba-1.
