History[]
Backstory[]
There are many Indigenous peoples who inhabit the regions that make up Adventureland who appear to have had relations with the rivers though said relationships are left a mystery. Dr. Albert Falls navigated the many rivers of Adventure on a 13 day journey.[2] On the April 8th of 1911, Falls founded the Jungle Navigation Company which traversed the rivers for cargo delivery and transportation. Following 1916 , another map was created of different Rivers of Adventure routes by JNC skipper Frank Wolff. Frank gifted this map to Dr. Albert Falls with the words " To Albert, Here's to many more adventures of a life-time- F.W.".
On the October 1 of 1931, Falls' granddaughter and successor as leader of the company Alberta Falls started the Jungle Cruise tourism service which traversed the rivers. On the Jungle Navigation Company's 20th anniversary in 1931, Alberta assembled her grandfather's maps and documents of the rivers into a single cohesive map. By around 1936, Alberta also modified and updated the map made by Frank Wolff for better use by her skippers.
In the December of 1935, the Jungle Navigation Company had their inaugural, "Jingle Cruise" to celebrate the Christmas season. However on either this celebration or one between it and 1938, an air-shipment of holiday decorations was accidentally dumped in the rivers of adventure causing mass pollution throughout Adventureland and amongst its wildlife. Due to the financial success of a Christmas decorated jungle, this pollution became an annual tradition for the Jungle Navigation Company.
Following a 1938 mission to find the Holy Grail, the Rivers of Adventure were trekked by world-famous archaeologist Indiana Jones. Throughout this expedition, Jones lost many of his archaeological artifacts within the jungle. Amongst these items were a crate from Hangar 51 containing the Ark of the Covenant which was lost in the Congo, and the head-dress of Mola Ram and umbrella of Henry Jones, Sr. along the Nile.
