R.V. Laust Surveying & Cartography was a jungle surveying and mapping service active by the year 1938. They were known to have been active in the Congo Basin where they used a base camp along the river, visited by the colonial Jungle Navigation Company.

History[]

Background[]

R.V. Laust Surveying & Cartography was a business in the 1930s, presumably founded by or notably including one R.V. Lost. In the December of 1938, they were active in the Congo Basin where their base camp was overrun by a group of gorillas who flipped their jeep and ransacked their cargo.

Development history[]

"R.V. Laust Surveying & Cartography" is a service which was added to the Jungle Cruise of Walt Disney World in 2022 by the time of the Jingle Cruise. A map was added to the scene. The group's name is a play on saying, "Are we lost?", a gag ironic for a group of cartographers. It may be an additional joke on how the scene includes a flipped jeep, also known as an R.V..

Appearances[]
