Prof. Plump's Miracle Tonic for Everlasting Life was a bottled, "snake-oil" sold by the late 1930s. The elixir claimed to provide eternal life to whomever ingested it.

History[]

Background[]

Development history[]

Prof. Plump's Miracle Tonic for Everlasting Life was added into the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise in a 2021 refurbishment. The tonic is likely a reference to the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Disney attraction The Haunted Mansion as one of the three ghosts is often given the name Professor Phineas Plump by Disney. Phineas is most commonly identified as having been a Victorian-era snake-oil salesman prior to dying and inhabiting the Haunted Mansion, a backstory referenced in the Host a Ghost jars and non-canonical Ghost Gallery backstory. Under this context, the tonic promising Everlasting Life would be dramatic-irony given how Phineas is a famously deceased character.

Appearances[]

Jungle Cruise[]

The colonial Jungle Navigation Company has a jar of the concoction in their Amazon River Base. The medicine also appears in the cabinet at the lookout of Disneyland's boathouse.
