History[]
Background[]
The Primeval Jungle was a jungle during the Late Cretaceous period. The jungle came to be visited by human late-20th century inventor Wayne Szalinski, using his time-travel, "Gizmo". Szalinski would operate white-water rafting tours of the prehistoric jungle, bringing guests from the future to the jungle. On one expedition, he brought guests too close to the K-T Extinction's meteor impactor and lost his gizmo along the rivers. The humans were able to relocate the device and travel back to the future right as the meteor hit and wiped out the jungle, though they did seemingly bring at least one velociraptor back with them.

Trivia[]
- Most of the dinosaurs present in the Jungle are affiliated with prehistoric North America, accept the velociraptors which are Mongolian.
- The location of the jungle is unknown, though the attraction may have provided some clues:
- Speculating Szalinski's gizmo travelled mainly through time and not space; this could mean that it is the prehistoric version of the docks seen when the attraction begins. These docks are modelled after the Jungle Cruise's docks; hinting that it could be the Amazon Rainforest or Lost Delta of India. It is additionally possible that this could mean the Primeval Jungle is part of a prehistoric, "Adventureland", a theory given credence by its anachronistic wildlife population.
- Most of the dinosaurs present are North American which, since the docks also show Matterhorn Bobsleds and Cinderella Castle, could infer he was travelling from the American parks back in time. However, this may be jarring to continuity and also Cinderella Castle & Matterhorn Bobsleds are located in two different coasts of the continent.
- Dinosaurs have been referenced in the mainstream Jungle Cruise attraction by Albert Awol's removed audio. He would mention a world-renowned palaeontologist named Dr. Cornelius Bifocal, and tours to, "The Land That Time Forgot", referencing an Edgar Rice Burroughs story involving an island where dinosaurs are still active.
- The Primeval Jungle is similar to the jungles of DinoLand, U.S.A. from the attraction DINOSAUR/Countdown to Extinction in Disney's Animal Kingdom.
