The Na'vi (Na'vi language: The People) also known as Homo Pandorus are a fictitious species of alien from the James Cameron film Avatar (2009).
Description[]
The Na'vi are a sentient species of humanoid native to the exo-moon of Pandora. They average at around 3 metres/10' in height and have striped, cyan skin. They are slender and have long prehensile tails in addition to appendages growing from the backs of their heads which can connect to the moon's biological life-force, the goddess Eywa.
An artificial variant of the species is known as, "Avatars". The Avatars are hybrids of Na'vi and human created for human colonization of the Na'vi planet. These genetic creations were implanted with human consciousnesses that matched the genetic makeup of the body. Some of these avatar were integrated into Na'vi society, most notably Jake Sully who would become leader of the Omaticaya Clan.
