Myrmecoleon are a creature from real-world medieval bestiaries, considered to be the offspring of a lion and an ant. The creature is a hybrid of both species which hides beneath the sand to hunt its prey. The creatures were integrated in a 2021 refurbishment of the Jungle Cruise where like many backstory elements of said refurbishment, they were not actually integrated or featured.
