The Museum of Antiquities is a location mentioned in Jungle River Cruise: Curse of the Emerald Trinity.

Description[]

The Museum of Antiquities was a museum of historic artifacts in California during the early 1930s.

History[]

Background[]

The Museum of Antiquities was active in the early 1930s. Prior to the December of 1932, it received a Peruvian gold idol from archaeologist Indiana Jones after Jones stopped the idol from falling into the hands of criminal archaeologist Professor Garrett Reed.

Appearances[]

Jungle River Cruise: Curse of the Emerald Trinity[]

Andrew Sinclair-Harris' article mentions the gold idol from Peru which Jones and Reed fought for being displayed in the museum.

Trivia[]

  • The museum being located in California may be a tribute to Disneyland being located in Anaheim.
  • The idol donated by Jones was implied to be the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) though this does not line up with the events of the film where Jones fought René Belloq for it in 1936.
