Jungle Cruise Connections[]
Jungle Cruise[]
In the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise there is a medicine cabinet used by the Jungle Navigation Company's Amazon River Base. One item in the cabinet is a bottle labelled, "Practically Perfect Peculiar Way Remedy" described as a, "Spoonful of Sweetness" which would help the medicine go down.[1] The bottle's naming is a reference to how Mary Poppins describes herself as being, "Practically perfect in every way". Within the film, the bottled medicine was a connection to the Polio vaccine. The medicine also appears in the cabinet at the lookout of Disneyland's boathouse. Special-effects artist Bob Mattey who worked on Mary Poppins also worked on the Jungle Cruise.
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]
A post-card to Trader Sam from the Jungle Navigation Company comes from a man named Smith who mentions Sam having his missing peg-leg. This was a reference to the twice repeated joke in the film, "I once knew a man with a wooden-leg named Smith", "What was the name of his other leg?".
