The shack or cabin is the conjectural name for a location in Disneyland's Jungle Cruise.
Description[]
This building is a small cabin located in a jungle enclave along the river in the Lost Delta of India. The shack had a straw roof, tribal artwork on its walls, a bamboo base, netting, and a small boat landing. Across from the shack was a boathouse used by the colonial Jungle Navigation Company.
History[]
Background[]
This was a shack which was presumably constructed by 1931 in India's Lost Delta. The owner of the building is unknown but the structure remained into at-least 1938.
Development history[]
The shack originally had a completely different design. The artwork on the side of the modern shack is modelled after art from the huts of the since removed North African Headhunter Tribe.
Appearances[]
Jungle Cruise[]
The cabin appears across from the docks in the queue. The shack makes an additional appearance on Dr. Albert Falls' map of the Rivers of Adventure, as revised by Alberta Falls in 1931. The shack was also illustrated on the map which predated this map in the boathouse.
Trivia[]
- In the Magic Kingdom, the shack is set in the Amazon rainforest and said to belong to one O.I. Cyhu.
- The boathouse's reconstruction had an in-universe explanation in the Adventure Trading Company where it was stated that JNC employee Skip Dockmonkey caused an accident which destroyed much of the boathouse around the attraction's setting in 1935/1936. It is unknown if this accident is also connected to the reconstruction of the shack.
- Red striped shirts, a blue dress, and beige pants can be seen hanging to dry outside of the shack.[2]
