History[]
Background[]
Kilimanjaro Safaris has been active since the late-19th/early-20th century. Since said time-period, they have been active in the port of Harambe while it was under European imperialism. Kilimanjaro Safaris seemingly worked to assist colonial explorers in embarking through the stolen land. Early services of the company included safari expeditions and elephant-back safari.
In 1961, the people of Harambe revolted against their European overlords and gained independence. Kilimanjaro Safaris would remain in Harambe albeit aiming to be more in service of environmentalism and ecology. One of the company's main outposts was along the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, a reserve created by Harambe citizens which was repurposed by the former outpost of the Smythe-Wallis British East Africa Livestock Ltd.. By the 1990s, they were allies with the Harambe Wildlife Reserve and Wilderness Explorers.
