Kevin Rafferty was Creative Director and Show Writer at Walt Disney Imagineering from 1978 to 2019 before retiring. Notable projects of his include Typhoon Lagoon, the Comedy Warehouse of Pleasure Island, It's Tough to be a Bug! at Disney's Animal Kingdom, The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management), Star Tours, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

- In the Amazon River Base of the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise is a plaque for the 1935, "K.P. Rafferty All-Skipper Pun Championship". This award is identified as having been won in 1935 by one, "Skipper Joe".
