Kamaka is the pet kakapo bird of Alberta Falls and a character from the Jungle Cruise.

History[]

Biography[]

Kamaka is a kakapo bird which originally lived in New Zealand. Prior to 1928, Kamaka was adopted by a young Alberta Falls while she was in the jungle with her grandfather. Kamaka remained Alberta's loyal pet well into the late 1930s.

Development history[]

Kamaka was created for the backstory of the 2021 refurbishment of the Jungle Cruise as one of many extravagant backstory elements. Like many of these elements, Kamaka did not actually notably appear or otherwise be integrated in the attraction.

Appearances[]

Jungle Cruise[]

Kamaka's cage is in Alberta's office, covered in green fluff.[1] Kamaka makes a cameo beside Alberta on an ad for the Jungle Navigation Company in the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise. An obscured post-card from Alberta's cousin Siobhan Murphy in Alberta's office indirectly mentions Kamaka, saying she wants to study them.[2] On the Global Broadcasting Service, Skipper Missy asks for guests to watch their steps and not step on Kamaka, pick him up or look him in the eye.
