History[]
Biography[]
Jake Sully and his brother Tom Sully were born in the year 2126. Jake became an officer in the United States Marine Corpse while Tom became a brilliant scientist involved with operations on the exo-moon of Pandora. While fighting in Venezuela, Sully received a spinal-injury which left him as a paraplegic and in-need of a wheelchair. Sully was subsequently left unemployed because of this injury, living off of army benefits.
In the summer of 2148, Tom was killed by a petty-thief before he could travel to Pandora. Because of this, Tom's affiliates in the evil Resources Development Administration recruited Jake to assume Tom's position. The reason behind this was that the RDA had created an, "Avatar" for Tom, a host body which was a genetic-hybrid of human and the Pandoran Na'vi to have his sentience placed in while on the moon. Because Tom and Jake were identical twins, the RDA could repurpose the Avatar for Jake's body.
Jake arrived on Pandora after five years, nine months and 22 days of cryo-sleep space-travel. On the moon, he worked under xenobiologist Dr. Grace Augustine who disdained the RDA for their crimes. While separated on a mission and attacked by viperwolves, Sully was saved by Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at’ite, the princess of the Na'vi Omaticaya Clan who recognized the planet's goddess Eywa making a connection with Sully. Because of this, the Omaticaya took in Sully's Avatar body to teach about their ways and culture.
During his time with the clan, Sully realized the evils of the RDA and defected from them. When the RDA attempted to destroy the Omaticaya's home of the sacred Tree of Souls, Sully bonded with the sacred banshee, "The Great Leonopteryx" and lead the attack against the RDA. Following the Na'vi victory, the Na'vi used their powers to permanently place Sully's mind in his Avatar body and made him their Olo'eyktan (clan leader) following the death of the previous leader at the hands of the RDA.

Trivia[]
- Sully is similar to Indiana Jones from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) in that they are both film protagonists featured in the backstories of Jungle Cruise attractions that are unseen in the actual attractions and who were not owned by Disney during their time of integration but were later obtained.
