The hornbill is a great hornbill bird from the Jungle Cruise.
History[]
Biography[]
The hornbill is a bird which during the 1930s, built its nest within the rafters of the Jungle Navigation Company's Mekong boathouse.
Development history[]
The hornbill was originally designed by Marc Davis to appear in a gag where a crocodile attempted to eat it. This gag was scrapped and the audio-animatronic bird was instead put alongside toucans near the beginning of the ride.[1] Around the time Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye was constructed causing a rerouting of the Jungle Cruise's rivers, the hornbill was moved to the queue.
Appearances[]
