Festival of the Lion King is a Lion King themed show in the Africa of Disney's Animal Kingdom and Adventureland of Hong Kong Disneyland. The storyline and setting of the attraction ties into that of Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Backstory[]
The Festival of the Lion King is a travelling show of African performers lead by Kiume, Nakawa, Kibibi, and Zawadi. The show is a celebration of the lion king of the Pride Lands, Simba and travel alongside animals such as his adoptive fathers Timon and Pumbaa. The show has made many stops, most notably the Harambe Theatre in the Port of Harambe.
Development history[]
The animal floats for the attraction were repurposed from floats for the The Lion King Celebration parade. In Disney's Animal Kingdom, the show was held in the defunct area of Camp Minnie-Mickey from 1998 to 2014 , set within the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. The attraction was moved to Africa in 2014 due to construction on Pandora: The World of Avatar. In 2021, a version called A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King was also made.

- Due to being an in-universe show with four masters-of-ceremony and talking animals which shares backstory with its resepective Jungle Cruise attraction, the Festival of the Lion King parallels Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
