The ducks are animals in the Jungle Cruise.

Description[]

The ducks are American mallards which are an invasive species in the jungles composing, "Adventureland". Due to this, the mallards became dispersed in the Amazon rainforest, Congo Basin, Burma, Cambodia, African veldt, certain islands in Polynesia and in the Lost Delta of India.

History[]

The mallards spread throughout the world's jungles around 1935/1936 through passage along the mystical Rivers of Adventure used by the Jungle Navigation Company. While scientists were perplexed by their migration and concerned with the potential harm they could do to the ecosystems, they were put up with due to how cute they were.

Adventure Trading Company[]

In the Daily Gnus newspaper was an article titled, "Scientists Cry Fowl" by Abigail Samson. It mentioned the North-American waterfowl as an invasive species travelling throughout the world's jungles via the Rivers of Adventure. In the Bird Juju mission, one of the birds which guests needed to find for Tiki Kiki Serbano was a, "Water Fowl". This could be achieved by photographing mallards or characters like Donald and Daisy Duck.[1]

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar[]

To promote the Jungle Cruise film, this bar served the duck-based meal-item"Everyone DUCK!" flatbread. The name of this item was an allusion to what skippers would announce when attacked by the Umbala Tribe in the attraction.

Jungle Cruise[]

The ducks appear as live animals throughout the Jungle Cruise. In Disneyland, there is a tribal mask depicting a duck (Donald Duck) overtop of the boathouse's entrance. Removed duck artwork includes a headhunter's mask, the figurehead of one of the Pygmy tribe's war-canoe, and the boathouse's duck mask on a map for the Rivers of Adventure. These tribal depictions of ducks are in real-life modelled after the cartoon character Donald Duck.
