Dr. Winston Hibler also known as Doctor Hibler is a character from the Jungle Cruise.

History[]

Background[]

Dr. Winston Hibler was an adventurer and doctor during the 1930s. By around 1935/1936, Hibler was a member of the True-Life Adventurers Club and studied, "The African Lion" with fellow member, Doctor Sears. The two would assemble at the club's third-annual meeting to discuss their findings on the lion. By 1938, Hibler was a member of the Special Arachnids Unit of the Jungle Exploration Company.

Development history[]

Dr. Winston Hibler is a tribute to Winston Hibler (1910-1976), a real-world screenwriter and director for Disney who co-writ and narrated several of the True-Life Adventures films which influenced Adventureland and the Jungle Cruise.

In the old audio-loop, Nigel Greenwater mentioned Doctor Hibler as being a member of the True-Life Adventurers Club. He stated that Hibler and Doctor Sears are to discuss their findings on, "The African Lion".

In the Amazon River Base was a crate for, "Dr. Winston Hibler" at the the Special Arachnids Unit of the Jungle Exploration Company.[1]
