Dr. J.L. Baterista is a character from Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland.

History[]

Biography[]

Dr. J.L. Baterista was a white colonial explorer during the 19th century. He was seemingly close with British aristocratic member Lord Henry Mystic. In 1899, Baterista attended the Hotel Hightower in New York City to celebrate his contemporary, the evil billionaire Harrison Hightower III's stealing of the idol Shiriki Utundu from the Mtundu tribe of the Congo. Baterista travelled to the Congo himself in 1906 on a riverboat expedition.

Dr. J.L Baterista was made for Mystic Manor as a tribute to imagineer Joe Lanzisero.

Baterista makes a minor cameo in this restaurant on a miniature portrait depicting the 1899 S.E.A. meeting at the Hotel Hightower.

Tropical Hideaway[]

On a wall in this location is an oar with a plaque which reads, "Dr. J.L. Baterista, Congo River, 1906".
