Dr. Abner Ravenwood is a character from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and who is connected to the Jungle Cruise.

Background[]
Dr. Abner Ravenwood was a renowned archaeologist and professor of the University of Chicago during the 1920s. Abner was well known for his interests in Egyptology, hunting the Ark of the Covenant, and the lost Temple of the Forbidden Eye. He was mentor to a young Indiana Jones, and considered him to be like a son. Abner cut all contact with Jones when he found out that the 27 year-old had an affair with Abner's 15-year-old daughter, Marion.
After this, Abner and Marion travelled to Nepal where they opened an inn called The Raven. Abner only reignited contact with his protégée when Jones' expedition uncovered the Temple of the Forbidden Eye in 1936. This same year, Abner died.
