The Disneyland Railroad is an attraction and transportation service in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.

Backstory[]
The Disneyland Railroad is often depicted as an in-universe railroad which connects to locations such as New Orleans in Louisiana, Marceline in Missouri, the realm of Adventureland, Toontown and Tomorrowland in California and Thunder Mesa in Arizona. This railroad has been identified as being run by, "W.E.D. Locomotive Works" with president Walt Disney and general manager Roger E. Broggie.[1] This fictionalized Disney has also been stated to be chief-engineer of the similar Walt Disney World Railroad and the Disneyland Railroad has been affiliated with the business Can-Do Machineworks, also run by Roger Broggie.[2] The main headquarters of the railroad is on Main Street in Marceline, Missouri.
Development history[]
Disneyland was partially inspired by Walt Disney's love for miniature-trains, namely his own miniature train the Carolwood-Pacific Railroad.

Club 33[]
During the Tiki Takeover event, tickets for the, "Missouri-Pacific Railway" were located in the menu, referencing the Main Street setting of the Disneyland Railroad. This ticket belonged to Dr. Albert Falls for a 1940 trip from Chicago, Illinois to Anaheim, California.[3]
Jungle Cruise[]
In Disneyland, the Disneyland Railroad passes by the African veldt scene of the Jungle Cruise. The railroad can sometimes be seen from the ride.

Indiana Jones[]
The dog-house for the Jones family pet Indiana appears along the railroad in Frontierland, this being the dog who Henry Jones, Jr. named himself after.[4]
Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions[]
Tokyo's counterpart to the railroad is the Western River Railroad which uses the building for Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions as its station.
Main Street Cinema[]
The Disneyland Casting Agency has a posting reading, "Train Conductors: Now casting: turn-of-the-century crew of an authentic period steam train. Contact Carolwood Pacific R.R." on the same board asking for the recruitment of skippers through Trader Sam.
Phantom Manor[]
The Disneyland Railroad is presented as an in-universe railway in Disneyland Paris' Frontierland, within the town of Thunder Mesa. This town was the home of Captain Rowan D. Falls, a character from Phantom Manor often assumed to be a relative of Dr. Albert Falls and the Falls family.
Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room[]
While passing through Adventureland, the railroad's engineer mentions the birds of the Enchanted Tiki Room.
Trivia[]
- The animatronic dinosaurs from the railroad's Primeval World diorama were once planned to be moved to the proposed Jungle Cruise-like boat ride Lost River Rapids.
