The cursed serpents are animals from the Jungle Cruise film.

Description[]

The cursed serpents are a group of snakes which became bound to Lope de Aguirre, a cursed conquistador trapped in the Amazon rainforest. The snakes acted as Lope's henchmen and spies while also crawling through his body.

History[]

Background[]

In 1556, Lope de Aguirre was cursed by the chief of the Puka Michuna tribe for his crimes against the Amazon's people in search for the mystical Tears of the Moon tree. Aguirre was later imprisoned in a cave by fellow cursed conquistador, Francisco Lopez de Heredia where Aguirre's curse turned him to stone. The snakes which surrounded Aguirre's body became bound to him so when he was freed in 1916 by Prince Joachim of the German Empire, they acted as his henchmen. Ultimately, most if not all of these snakes were petrified to stone when Francisco (now known as Frank Wolff) defeated and petrified Lope again.

Development history[]

Lope de Aguirre's snakes are inspired by the rock python, "Monty" which appeared in the Jungle Cruise ride, namely in Settler's Field and outside of the Pygmy camp.
