Trader Sam is an ancient magic-user who has been active since at-least the early 1700s. Over his centuries of life, he's made connections with many notable figures of his universe's history.

Jack's mother frequented Sam's bar and both he and Sam spent time on Isla de Pelegestos (presumably prior to 1721). 	Lampie	Around the turn of the century, Lampie was the alcoholic lighthouse-keeper in the town of Passamaquoddy. When Lampie encountered a dragon named Elliot, he informed Sam on the subject via messages in bottles as the rest of the town didn't believe him. 	Marcus Brody	Marcus Brody was a historian, archaeologist, museum curator and dean of Marshall College in the 1930s. He would send a message to Trader Sam, asking for the whereabouts of Indiana Jones. 	Marion Ravenwood	Marion Ravenwood was an old frame of Indiana Jones and proprietress of a bar called The Raven in Nepal. She sent Sam a seltzer bottle from the Raven as a gift for opening up his bar. 	Lt. Robin Crusoe	Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N. was an American military aviator who was stranded on a Hawaiian island along with a space-chimp called Floyd. Robin made makeshift machines for himself and had conflict with the local tribe before being saved by the US navy. During his stay on the island, Robin sent letters in bottles to Sam.	Lt. 	Sallah Mohammed Faisel el-Kahir	Sallah was an excavator from Cairo who was close friends and frequent collaborators with Indiana Jones. Sallah contacted Sam during their excavation of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye for Sam to bring tourists to the temple as a means to satisfy the demands of British Colonial Affairs. Sam seemed to also have some affiliation with Sallah's business, "Sallah Tours" which operated in the Lost Delta of India and Amazon rainforest. 	Wan "Short Round" Li	Short Round was a Chinese boy who acted as assistant to Indiana Jones in the 1930s. After 1935, Short Round sent Sam a kryta doll of Indiana made by the priest Mola Ram for Sam to destroy (though Sam kept it instead). 	Man with a wooden-leg named, "Smith"	Smith was a peg-legged sailor. He lost his peg-leg and discovered Sam had obtained it. 	The Robinson family	The Robinson family were a Swiss clan sent to New Guinea only to be attacked by pirates and stranded on an East-Indies isle on the July 17 of 1805. Here, the family would create a treehouse, name the island, "New Switzerland" and be deemed governors of the isle by the Swiss government. Sam was friends with the family and kept in contact with him via messages in bottles. 	Dr. Albert Falls	Dr. Albert Falls was a British colonial explorer who mapped the Rivers of Adventure in 1891 and founded the Jungle Navigation Company in 1911 before disappearing in 1928. Sam kept a bronze bust of the doctor and brewed the doctor's favourite drink, "Schweitzer Falls", named for the waterfall named for Dr. Falls.
	Dr. Leonard Moss	Dr. Leonard Moss was an esteemed Canadian botanist who left plants in Trader Sam's care.
	Chief Nah-mee	Chief Nah-mee is the cousin of Trader Sam. He assisted Sam in opening up the Grog Grotto.
	The Daily Gnus	The Daily Gnus newspaper was the resident newspaper for the Wilds of Adventureland.	They are referenced as, "The Evening Gnus"
	Indian elephants	This was a group of Indian elephants which met in a sacred bathing pool behind a flooded shrine in Cambodia built by the Khmer Empire. The reason this pool was inhabited by elephants was the result of Sam having accidentally dumped his first liquor brew in the waters, attracting the pachyderms by the next day.
	Jungle Navigation Company	The Jungle Navigation Company is an international British colonial company which was founded by Dr. Albert Falls. Sam frequently worked alongside the company along with being a member of the business, having run their lost & found and his bars having been managed by the JNC.
	Jungle Navigation Company board	This was the board in charge of the Jungle Navigation Company with them potentially referencing Sam as having been a member.
	Cap'n Kevin	Cap'n Kevin was a Jungle Navigation Company skipper who seemed to have a romantic relationship with Trader Sam.	Kevin is based on Kevin Kidney.

	Prof. Harper Goff	Professor Harper Goff was an employee of the Jungle Navigation Company in the 1920s turned banjo-instructor and tattoo-artist during the 1930s. Sam kept a banjo adverting Goff's services at Dock 54 and also had a major role in his film, "The Jungle Cruise".	The professor is a fictionalized Adventureland counterpart of imagineer Harper Goff.
	Skipper Bill	Bill was the Jungle Navigation Company's skipper of the Congo Connie and head of Plant Studies. When Bill's boat got lost in the Congo, he contacted Sam about his missing anchor which Sam kept in the bar.	Bill is the fictional counterpart to real-life botanist, Bill Evans.
	Skipper John	John was an eccentric skipper for the Jungle Navigation Company who Sam kept a photo of in his bar.	John is modelled after John Lasseter. In a D23 video on the bar, Nigel Greenwater mentioned Skipper John as having followed the, "Adventure is out there!" ideology of Charles Muntz from Up while also believing in sentient toys, talking cars and intelligent bugs; referencing Toy Story, Cars and A Bug's Life, respectively.
	Skip Dockmonkey	Skip Dockmonkey was a charming but negligent and inept employee of the Jungle Navigation Company who was made Sam's manager at his bars.

	Disneyland Casting Agency	The Disneyland Casting Agency was a hiring agency founded by Walt Disney in, "'55", and which was based in Marceline, Missouri. "T.
