Background[]

The Congo Queen was a boat drafted on the June 10th of 1924. The boat was checked by one Harper Goff and approved by Walt Disney for construction. By the 1930s, the boat was regularly used by the Jungle Navigation Company.

Development history[]

The Congo Queen is an original Jungle Cruise boat which the main boat to be used by Walt Disney. The boat's name is likely influenced and named for the titular steamboat from The African Queen (1951), an adventure film which the real Harper Goff used as an inspiration for the Jungle Cruise. The Congo Queen was given a gold repaint for the Jungle Cruise's 50th anniversary.

Jungle Cruise[]

The Congo Queen is a boat in Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland's Jungle Cruises. In the queue of Disneyland's Jungle Cruise, there are framed blue-prints for the boat.[2] There is also a board mentioning it as travelling the Nile river.[3]

Jingle Cruise[]

During Disneyland's Jingle Cruise, the Congo Queen was renamed to the Congo Caroler and the Candy Cane Queen.

Jungle River Cruise[]

In this version of the attraction, the Congo Queen is the ride's wheelchair accessible boat.
