The Big Game Safari Shooting Gallery also known simply as Big Game Safari or conjecturally as the Adventureland Shooting Arcade is a defunct shooting-game attraction from Disneyland's Adventureland.
History[]
Backstory[]
The game put guests in the roles of African big-game hunters, shooting at wildlife from across the water.
Development history[]
This attraction ran from the June of 1962 to the January 1982. The attraction held the largest structure in Adventureland.[2] Its space was later used for the shop South Seas Traders, later turned into an extension of Bengal Barbecue.
Jungle Cruise connections[]
Jungle Cruise[]
Part of the backdrop was a depiction of the Headhunter territory, complete with the canoe of skulls. Outside the gallery were the tribal masks which would be used for the headhunters themselves on the attraction. Many of the animals shot by guests were also animals featured in the Jungle Cruise.
