The Bandar-log (Hindi: बन्दर-लोग) also sometimes referred to as the Monkey People refers to the monkeys from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (1894).

Description[]

The Bandar-log are a group of monkeys who inhabited the jungles of India. The bandar-log made their home in the ruins of an Indian city and were ruled over by an orangutang king. This city was destroyed by the sloth-bear Baloo and human, "Man-cub" Mowgli.
