Bamboo is a real-world group of flowering plant in the grass family which can be found throughout the Jungle Cruise attraction.
Description[]
Bamboo is a kind of giant grass which can grow to the proportion of trees. While traditionally only found in Asian countries, bamboo seems to be distributed throughout the Wilds of Adventureland causing them to grow in the Amazon rainforest, North Africa, the Congo, Cambodia, Burma and the Lost Delta of India.
History[]
Development history[]
Bamboo was one of the plants selected by Bill Evans to create the Jungle Cruise's jungle.
Appearances[]
Jungle Cruise[]
Live bamboo can found throughout the many jungles of the Rivers of Adventure. Skippers are known to make jokes about bamboo such as, " This bamboo is said to grow six feet tall. Some say it's seven but that’s another story". In the removed Albert Awol audio loop, Awol mentioned that the winning meal from that month's cooking competition was bamboo stew with shredded vine stems which Skipper Doug described as tasting like chicken. Various buildings and other structures are also visibly constructed with bamboo such as the shack in the Lost Delta, Trader Sam's outpost, and the Jungle Navigation Company's Ticket Booth.
Jingle Cruise[]
Queue audio said, "To all passengers preparing for the excursion into the bamboo forest, please be advised you’ll be walking in a splinter wonderland". The Adventureland Christmas Tree is visibly made with bamboo poles.
Jungle River Cruise[]
Skulls and the clothing of victims are impaled on bamboo by the Umbala tribe.
Skipper Canteen[]
Bamboo chop-sticks are served with, "Bang Bang Shrimp".
