The Arrowhead of Lukarina or the Sacred Arrowhead is an object from the Jungle Cruise film.
Description[]
This was an arrowhead which was in some way crucial to locating the temple containing the Tears of the Moon tree in the Amazon Rainforest. It contained writing in the Puka Michuna language, describing the tree's location and how it only bloomed the mystic Tears of the Moon during a blood moon.
History[]
Background[]
Origins[]
The arrowhead belonged to the Puka Michuna tribe of the Amazon rainforest. The arrowhead was kept as a pendant on the neck of the Puka Michuna's chieftain. In 1556, the mad conquistador Lope de Aguirre attempted to steal the arrowhead by having his men slaughter the chief and his tribe. The arrowhead was subsequently taken into the jungle by the chief's daughter where it was lost for centuries. Throughout this time, the arrowhead was highly sought-after by Lope's rebelled cursed conquistador Francisco Lopez de Heredia who wished to use the Tears of the Moon to break his curse of immortality to commit suicide.
Royal Anthropological Society[]
Prior to 1916, the arrowhead was taken by British colonial explorer Dr. Albert Falls on a jungle expedition for the British Empire. By 1916, Falls had the arrowhead sent to the amoral Royal Anthropological and Diverse Adventures Society in London, England via a lading from Liverpool. Amidst the Great War, high ranking society member Sir James Hobbs-Coddington subsequently conspired to betray England for the German Empire by selling the arrowhead to the kaiser's son Prince Joachim of Prussia in-return for a payment of gold-bars being given to the society.
During this time, botanist Dr. Lily Houghton sent a paper to the society requesting access to the arrhowhead so that she could locate the Tears of the Moon to create a universal cure. This request was rejected both for the society's plans for colluding with Germany and due to Houghton being a woman. Lily later sent in her brother MacGregor Houghton to request access to the arrowhead which when denied again, she used as a distraction as she stole the arrowhead. After this incident, she and MacGregor travelled to the Amazon rainforest to find the Tears of the Moon.
