Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha or more simply Albert, Prince Consort (1819-1861) is the historic prince-consort of the British Empire and late husband (and first-cousin) to Queen Victoria.
History[]
Albert was the husband of Queen Victoria during the 19th century. He may have been involved in educational reform, causing British schools to be named after him.
Jungle Cruise appearances[]
Jungle Cruise[]
On the Global Broadcasting Service in Disneyland's Jungle Cruise, Nigel Greenwater can be heard mentioning the Ladies Assistance League running their annual, "Charity Bazaar" in, "Prince Albert School"; possibly a reference to Albert's historic work towards educational reform. The Jungle Cruise also features a motif of victorian imperialism, particularly in India which Albert's wife famously accelerated when decreeing herself the foreign nation's empress.
Other connections[]
Jungle Cruise (film)[]
Historically, Albert is the great-grandfather of the film's main-antagonist Prince Joachim of Prussia along with being the grandfather of its unseen antagonist Wilhelm II as Wilhelm was son of Albert and Victoria's daughter, Victoria Princess Royal (1840-1901).
Trivia[]
- The Falls family matriarch and patriarch being named Albert and Victoria is likely a reference to the royal couple.
