The Adventureland Film Festival is a fictional event from the Jungle Cruise.

Description[]

The Adventureland Film Festival was a competitive film festival held in the mystical Wilds of Adventureland during the 1930s. The company was seemingly sponsored by the Jungle Navigation Company, a colonial company which was prominent in Adventureland and whose logo adorned that of the film festival.

History[]

The only known film festival was held in 1937 where the winner was Skipper Shaun for his movie, "A Bigger Bote". This victory was commemorated with the trophy being put on display in the trophy case of the JNC's Amazon River Base.

In the trophy-case is Skipper Shaun's trophy from the Adventureland Film Festival.

Trivia[]

  • The name of Shaun's movie is an apparent reference to the Steven Spielberg horror-film Jaws (1975) where protagonist Chief Martin Brody famously exclaims, "We're gonna need a bigger boat" upon seeing the shark attacking them from the water. Said shark animatronic was created by Bob Mattey (1910-1993) who also created animatronic animals for the Jungle Cruise.
